Seattle newborn photographer

What did you do this last weekend? Well I was lucky enough to work with one of my favorite Seattle newborn photographers in the area, the lovely Brooke Drumm. She hosted a 2 day newborn workshop. It was such an amazing experience to further my education in working with newborns, posing, safety, editing, styling and just everything newborn photography related!

I wasn’t sure what I would get out of the workshop, but it completely exceeded my expectations. I have grown leaps and bounds in my own photography work this past year, but taking this workshop has really elevated me to exactly where I have wanted to be. Finally, I can say that I know exactly the extent of posing and working with newborns 100% safely. I’m always careful with my newborn clients but working with newborns requires knowing how to safely posing and ensuring that you are not putting them in any harm. Brooke is a great teacher and in ensuring her students understand safety.

The fun part is learning how to get newborn babies into those perfect little squishy poses. There are so many tricks and techniques to get babies into that perfect pose. Watching the attention to detail is important from the pose of the baby to the props outfits and accessories I use for each of my sessions.

I am so excited for how much this is going to pay off in presenting all my newborn baby clients with gorgeous timeless classic photos to cherish of their baby. Yesterday I already had my first newborn baby in the studio post this newborn workshop. It went beautifully, even better than I expected. This is just a sneak peak of some of the work I got to be apart of at this workshop. Just expect your Seattle newborn photographer to be doing some even more amazing work this year! I have two more babies due here in the next month and a half and I am really looking forward to having them in my studio soon!
